You’re now a subscriber

I wasn’t sure how many of the admins of our eLearning blogs were actually getting an email every time I wrote a post here. So this afternoon, I have added you all as subscribers to this blog so you will be notified by email whenever I have published here.

I noticed Mr Samphier is starting to use programming in his class, so I will be writing a post about that in the coming weeks.

Mrs Moore’s class is learning Italian and has connected with a class in Italy. Add a language widget to your sidebar.

Olivia from Mrs Eddleston’s class wrote about symmetry and art using their names.

Many classes have students writing posts – use the author widget so parents can check what their child has written on the class blog.

Are there any other topics you would like me to write posts about that will help you with your blogging or using ICT in your classrooms?

Please leave a comment below with suggestions.

My theme is being retired?

Some of you may have noticed a message appearing when you go to your dashboard. It mentions you have a certain number of days until your theme is retired and you need to choose a new one.

At the moment there are nearly 300 themes to choose for your blog but many of them have been around for nearly 10 years and do not work well with the new devices used such as tablets, iPads and mobile phones.

So Edublogs and CampusPress are retiring some of these themes but they have added 50 new ones to choose from.

Here are some posts that you might want to read to help you understand the reason why these themes are retiring.

From the Edublogger who is Sue Waters

New themes added last year and how themes are now grouped

You have until end of June to have changed your theme, if you are getting that message, otherwise it will revert back to the Edublogs default.
