Leonard’s Time at the Crocodile Park

I am on holiday in Broome with my family. Broome is in the northern part of Western Australia. I went to the crocodile park with my brothers and sister and my mum and dad. To enter the park, you walk inside a giant crocodile.

At the park, the dominant males fight for territory and breed with the females. This is me holding one of the hatchlings.

This is Bluey, he was found in a dam after it was drained because 5 horses had been killed. He was taken to the crocodile park to live. Bluey is 5 metres long and weighs over a tonne!

Crocodiles have over 60 teeth. Crocodiles have the strongest bite of all animals. The owner of these teeth was separated from the other crocodiles because he killed some other crocodiles.

The park was very interesting and I had lots of fun.

  1. Woohoo Leonard! What a great post! I guess you are missing school then … NOT! I do know someone who is missing you though … can you guess who that might be? What is like living in a caravan? It is so cold here – I wish we were in Broom! Today is our big blogging day – Sue is coming in to help us set up another blog where we can put all of our work on the Beaumaris Zoo and the thylacine. You will have to check it out sometime next week! Today is also the day Ron Brooks is coming in to visit too – a great day, although I am thinking I’d rather be where you are! I promise to post some photos of our day on here at the weekend!
    Ciao for now! 🙂

  2. Sweet! I love crocks! Yves and I are doing a cool “I’m a thylacine”
flip magazine. You will get to see it on the blog soon!

  3. Hi its Ida
I love the pictures you have posted! They really make the post more interesting.
Back at school when Ron Brooks came we had a great time! We saw some of his original pictures – they were beautiful!
What has been your favorite part of the holidays?
