NAIDOC week

This week was NAIDOC week. NAIDOC stands for national aborigines and islanders day observance committee.Over the week we were working on aboriginal work, we have been working on pavers with rocks that tell you a story, aboriginals used different signs to tell a story.

we also have been working on mutton birds, another name for a mutton bird is moon bird or shearwater we learnt that mutton birds travel from Tasmania  and around Australia and always return to the same burrow.

A group of mutton  birds  burrows are called a rookery.

We had done some work on dream time stDSCN0243ories too we listened to a story of why the crow is black, aboriginals made up dream time stories and is normally about animals.

  1. Well done 2/3.

Did you find a website that showed the different symbols used when the aboriginals did their art work? If you did you could add a link to the website in your blog then your readers could click on it and go to visit that site.
