Prep-1 Gunn Sharing

In assembly we have had lots of classes sharing what they have been doing in class. But one of the ones that stood out, in a recent assembly, was from Mrs Gunn’s Prep/1 class.

They were sharing about the different seasons. Each one of them dressed up for assembly to suit the weather from their season. They wore sunglasses, hats, gloves, beanies and even an umbrella popped up. It was really well presented and was very cute.

Here is a picture of the snowman they made and a drawing of the sun created with MOMA Art Lab.image

Following Along with An Adventurer

1/2 MW had a very special visitor to our class. Andrew Hughes from Adventure Class came to talk to us about this year’s expedition. He is going to camp in the Florentine Valley to look for undiscovered caves. Andrew looked at a map from a satellite and it showed some bumps called sinkholes. Andrew thinks there might be caves underneath these bumps and he is going to spend four weeks to find out. 1/2MW is going to follow his adventures online though the website. We can ask Andrew questions, read about his discoveries and find out all about caves. We are very excited!

What do you imagine you might see in a newly discovered cave? Please leave a comment sharing your thoughts.

Exploring How Toys Move

Push Pull Venn Diagram

Today in our class we shared some toys. We talked about how the toys moved. Some of the toys we needed to pull along. Some toys we needed to push or press a button for them to move.

We used a Venn diagram to sort our toys into groups. There was a group for PUSH and a group for PULL. In the middle was a group for toys that we could push and pull.

Do you have a toy that moves? Where would it fit into our Venn diagram? Please leave a comment describing your toy.
